Nigeria Closes Borders
Ahead Of Polls
The President has
approved the closure of all Nigeria’s
land and sea borders from Wednesday, the 25th of March 2015 at 12 midnight. This is
according to a statement signed by the
Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of
Interior, Mr. Abubakar Magaji.
President Goodluck Jonathan has also
directed the Nigeria Immigration Service
(NIS) to ensure that non-Nigerians do not
participate in any part of the election
process.
The closure of borders, he explained,
would allow for the peaceful conduct of
the forthcoming 2015 general elections
which was rescheduled to hold March 28 and April 11.
