Sambo’s Media Aide Empowers Youths in Kaduna

By Alex Uangbaoje

Umar Sani the media
aide to Vice President Namadi Sambo on Wednesday
empowered 200 youths within his
Kaduna North local government
constituency.

The empowerment programme was the
second in this first quarter of the year
having empowered a set of 200 youth
and women earlier.

Items donated to the youth included cars, tricycles, motorcycles,
sewing machines, as well as wheel chairs for physically
challenged persons and cash.

Addressing the beneficiaries at the occasion, Sani who
donated the items under his Non
Governmental Organisation, Umar Sani
Foundation, said it was a gesture aimed
at reducing poverty and unemployment
among the youth.

According to him, it is necessary for any
reasonable politician to consider the
importance of youth in the society, and
their values politically, thus, the need to
empower them economically in order to
be self reliant.

Umar however, tasked the youth to shun
violence, and work for PDP during the
general election, and by so doing he
promised more of such programmes.

Also, speaking at the occasion, the State
PDP Chairman, Abubakar Haruna urged
other politicians to emulate Umar Sani,
stressing that the gesture would help to
reduce restiveness among youth.

In a remark before the distribution of
the items, the State Governor, Muhktar
Ramalan Yero called on the beneficiaries
to make judicious use of the items, and
not to sell them.

He also used the occasion to caution
youth to avoid being used by politicians
to breach peace before, during and after
elections.
