Valentine: Clerics Celebrate With over 500 Destitutes, Inmates, IDPs

As part of activities marking this year celebration of Saint Valentine’s Day, ‎a clergy, Pastor Yohanna Buru led by a delegation of Christian leaders from the Christ Evangelical Intercessory Fellowship Ministry, Sabon Tasha, Kaduna, visited Home of Destitutes and people living with disabilities to to celebrate with them. 

Other areas the pastor visited are; Mallam Niggers Rehabilitation Centre at Rigasa, Kaduna, and some Internally Displaced Persons IDPs at Badarawa and Unguwan Dosa in Kaduna North

Speaking with newsmen, Pastor Buru said “we choose these category of human being to celebrate with them this year because we felt that those are the people of God that really needed our love, care and assistance at this seasons.

“Majority of them are neglected and rejected by the society which makes live extremely difficult for them and their children to survived.” 

He added that “As people around the world celebrate valentine with their loves once, sharing many Good things of joy and happiness, we deem it fit to select less privileged and inmates with Refugees from different areas in the state to make them understand that we loved them and we pray for them for God to help them in overcoming all the daily challenges they face when searching for food to eat.‎

“Many people around the world celebrate Valentine’s Day by showing appreciation for the people they love or adore. Some people take their loved ones for a romantic dinner at a restaurant while others may choose this day to propose or get married. Many people give greeting cards, chocolates, best Romantic drinks, jewelry or flowers, particularly roses, to their partners or admirers on Valentine’s Day. 

“But to us, we decided that the only way to show care and love is to feed Over 500 Destitutes, Inmates and IDPs with take-away food in pack and best drinks, with noodles. ‎‎

He further said, “This is an effort to promote peaceful co-existence between Muslims and Christians in Nigeria and to called on every citizens across the country to immensely shun all forms of ethno-religious political crisis that was disturbing peace stability.

”Many people celebrate their love for their partner by sending cards or letters, giving gifts or flowers and arranging meals in restaurants or romantic nights in hotels but we chooses to celebrate the valentine with the most neglected Human-being by the society, so as to show them love and care due to the hard situation they find themselves. ‎‎
Receiving the Items on behalf of street baggars, Mallam Muntari saleh, spokeman Northern Blind Forums, thank Pastor yohanna buru for bringing them Food on the special lovers day, saying any one that remembered them today is really their True lover, and they will be praying for him.‎

He said, Not everyone remembered them on this special day, but only the choosing once by the almighty God gets the inspiration to do things like this. ‎‎

Representative of the IDPs, Mama Aisha Gambaringala a refugee woman with 9 children, called on assistance by Federal Government, NEMA, SEMA, RED CROSS and other Humanitarian organization ,NGOs and Civil societies organization to introduce a programme of skilled acquisition to All IDP women which are currently Widows.

She also said that the government should make education Free to all the orphanage children so as to have Good education like any other child in this planet.‎‎
