Stakeholders Laud Nigerian Breweries for Numerous Intervention Projects Across Kaduna State

Stakeholders in Kaduna at the weekend commended the Nigerian Breweries Plc, for its laudable and sterling achievements in offering her Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR), by providing numerous intervention projects for both host communities and other parts of the state.
The group which was made up of community leaders, youths, government agencies, ministries and parastatals, media, customers and business men and women amongst others, made the commendations during a “Stakeholders Interactive Forum” organized by the breweries in Kaduna.
They called on the breweries not to relent in it’s commitment of raising a standard in different community in the state, adding that if other organizations in the state can emulate what the breweries is doing, Kaduna would have become a point of attraction where people from other parts of the country will be looking up to in terms of development.
In his address, the Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai thank the company for its outstanding performance in contributing over 1.4 billion naira annually in terms of tax payment to the state.
The Governor who was represented by the Executive Director Revenue Operations Mr. Ango Liman added, “the Nigerian Breweries has being up and doing in terms of Cooperate Social Responsibility in Kaduna State, the Governor believes in infrastructural development for the people of the State hence the population is also growing speedly and given the infrastructural deficit.
“I will also Appeal to Nigerian Breweries to consider projects at other part of the State where your products are also consume aside the host communities.”
Earlier in his opening remarks, Kufre Ekanem, Corporate Affairs Adviser, NB Plc, noted that, the partnership they have built with their stakeholders has demonstrated clearly that the company is on the right path as seen in the quality of it’s relationships and mutual professional respect.
“As a business of over 71 years in Nigeria and 54 years with a structured operations in the North from our Kaduna location, our company’s commitment and partnership with you our veritable partners and the State Government is well known and respected.

“We have enjoyed great support from you all and the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El Rufai who has been supporting us. We are the State’s highest revenue supporter. His commitment to the promotion of investment and economic growth in the state has remained the driving force of his actions since assuming office as Governor. And we would continue to support his efforts by providing a source of livelihood for our staff, their families and others whose lives are linked to us.” He added.
Kufre, explained that, in line with company’s philosophy of “Winning with Nigeria” and a demonstration of her unwavering commitment to the developmental aspirations of the people of Kaduna State, the Breweries has commissioned the following projects in; “Health care, Boreholes, Education, Security interventions, Sports and Agriculture. See list of some projects.”
He enumerated some projects the company has completed in Kaduna as follows; “Makera Borehole (Ungwar Mission) – 2009, Kakuri Borehole 2010, Barnawa Borehole 2010, Kagoro Borehole 2011, Kudenda/Trikania Kaduna, Borehole Oct. 2013.
“Education Trust Funds; G G S S Makera (adjacent to Brewery), construction of UNICEF 6 Classrooms block 2009, Renovation of Classrooms Blocks at LEA Babandodo, Makera Prim. Sch. 2009, Construction of Toilet Blocks at Queen Amina College 2009, Renovation & Furnishing of Canteen at Queen Amina College 2009, Blocks of Classrooms Renovation at LEA Model Prim. School, Makera 2010, Donation of Two Blocks of Toilets at LEA Model Prim School, Makera 2010, Classroom Renovation at G D S S Kakuri (next to St. Gerards Hospital) 2011.

“Construction & Furnishing of 6 Classrooms and Toilet Blocks at Govt. Sec. Sch. Kudenda, Kaduna – 2013 Construction of 8 Classrooms, Library & computer Room at LEA Prim. Sch. Samaru Rd. Makera Kaduna -2013 Renovation & Furnishing of 31 classrooms, Library & toilets at LEA Nursery & Prim School, Kawo, Kaduna 2017.
On HealhCare projects in Kaduna State, Kufre added, “Donation of VVF Hospital Ward at Hajia G. Sawaba General Hospital, Zaria) 2010, Training of Traditional Birth Attendants (TBAs) at the Hospital 2011, Training of Surgeons (VVF Doctors) Abroad (Netherlands) – 2011 – 2013, St. Gerard’s Hospital – Kakuri Kaduna, Donation of mini-surgery equipment at Emergency Ward – 2010 St. Gerard’s Hospital, Construction & furnishing of female Orthopaedic Ward – 2011.
“St. Gerard’s Hospital, Donation of CT Scan Machine with 100 KVA Lister Generator (valued N50m) – 2013, Makera Health Centre, Kaduna (Renovation & donation of hospital equipment) 2016, Donation of X-Ray machine at St. Gerard’s Hospital Kaduna 2016, Renovation of Primary Health Centre Kudenda 2017.”
Other numerous intervention projects according to him, are in the areas of electricity, roads construction, sports, academic competitions for schools, agriculture, etc, which has cost the breweries billions of naira.
