Sports stakeholders throng Kaduna for SWAN Awards

Major stakeholders in Nigeria’s sporting industry are expected to converge on Kaduna on Saturday, December 10 to witness the closing ceremony of the 2016 Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) WEEK/Awards Ceremony billed for the Kabir Gymnasium Multi-purpose Hall, Kaduna.

The week-long event which has witnessed sporting activities will be climaxing with the presentation of awards to   several individuals and two organizations that have contributed to sports development in Kaduna State in particular, and Nigeria by extension.

The event which has the Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir el-Rufai as the Special Guest of Honour, will see the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Barrister Solomon Dalung serve as Guest of Honour, while Engineer Musa Nimrod would be the Chairman of the Occasion.

SWAN President, Honour Sirawoo is expected to be the Chief Host, while Kaduna SWAN Chairman, Mr. Isaiah Benjamin is the host

As part of activities listed on the programme for the event, and induction of the Kaduna State Governor as Grand Patron, and Commissioner of Youth, Sports and Culture as Patron, would take place.

The award recipients who were carefully selected after a thorough screening in no particular order are; Chairman/CEO Dynamic Sporting Solutions (DSS), Sunday Adeleye, CEO Wadson Sports Shop, Mr Ogbonna Daniel, Director Grassroots Sports Development, Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Dr. Ademola Are, Engr. Gana Sawa, Abubakar Abubakar, Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) Kaduna State Secretary, Abdulrazak Usman and former Chairman of Kaduna United, Hon. Sabo Babarayo.

Others lined up for awards are Alh. Aminu Aliyu Nasara and  CEO Kabir Gymnasium, Barr. Aishatu V. Sule and League Management Company (LMC boss, Shehu Dikko.
