SHOCKER: APC chairman, 264 party
members defect to PDP in Kebbi.
The Chairman of All Progressives
Congress, APC, in Birnin Kebbi Local
Government Area of Kebbi State, Alhaji
Abdulaziz Bandado, has defected to the
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), along
with 264 party members.
Bandado announced the defection in
Brinin Kebbi on Thursday.
He said he decided to defect to the PDP
because APC “has been hijacked by selfish
hawks.”
“After we had established the party, it was invaded by disgruntled members of the PDP.
“The new entrants in the APC only
succeeded in public display of their quest
to be elected on the platform of the party.
They had no concrete plans to enhance
the growth of the APC.”
He promised to carry all his loyalists along into the PDP, adding that the party had demonstrated the willingness to
improving the fortunes of the State.
“I call on my political friends in the APC to
join the PDP in order to move the state
forward,” he said.
He was welcomed into the PDP fold by the
PDP gubernatorial candidate in Kebbi,
Gen. Bello Sarkin-Yaki.
Sarkin-Yaki assured him that they would
all be treated equally in PDP and
immediately appointed him Campaign
Coordinator.
