Shiite Group Calls on El-rufai to Bring His Aide to Justice
…..accuses his special adviser on youth of mastermind
Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), has called on the Kaduna state government to bring Awwal Yaro Maikyau, the Special Adviser to Governor El-Rufai on Youth and his group to book to deter others with like minds of causing chaos in the state.
In a statement issued by one of their member, Usman Hashim, the Shiite group accused the governor’s aide of masterminding the killing of one of their member, Ali Yahaya and injuring many people with various degrees of injuries in the process.
According to him, “We are calling the State Government and other human right organizations to intervene and ensure that justice is seen to take its natural cause by bringing Awwal Yaro Maikyau, the Special Adviser to Governor El-Rufai on Youth and his group to book to deter others with like minds to cause chaos in the fragile society for peace to reign.”
The statement reads in full:
“It will be recalled that on 12thOctober, 2016, during the members of Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) Procession in Kaduna, about four (4) houses along Layi Audu-Na-Audu in Tudun Wada, Kaduna were attacked by some youths leading to the death of Aliyu Mohammed and Sani Nuhu.
“On Saturday, 15th October, 2016, the Special Adviser to Governor El-Rufai on Youth, Awwal Yaro Maikyau led youths armed with dangerous weapons came to the affected houses earlier destroyed when the family members were sweeping the houses ordered that they should not sweep the houses.
“The action Awwal Yaro Maikyau and his group was to prevent the occupants of the affected houses not to move into the destroyed houses while they insisted that nobody should clean the destroyed houses, they attacked the occupants of the houses thereby leading to the death of Ali Yahaya.
“After the killing of Ali Yahaya and injuring many people with various degrees of injuries, they carried out their deadly activities by injuring other people and destroyed about 10 houses with almost all their valuables looted by the youths.”
