‎Barely 24 hours after inauguration of new government in Nigeria, Malian President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita has visited Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State, saying wonderful wind will blow on Nigeria under Buhari.

The Republic of Mali President who had earlier attended the inauguration of President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja on Friday branched Kaduna on Saturday to visit Governor El-Rufai.

According to the President Keita, ‎”I am deeply convinced that, since yesterday, a new dawn, a wonderful wind will blow on Nigeria with the inauguration of President Muhammadu Buhari and your inauguration as a young and wonderful Governor of this wonderful state of Kadun‎a.

“‎I am delighted to be the first President to visit you in your new capacity as Kaduna of Kaduna state. But I am convinced that I won’t be the last and only President to visit you in Kaduna State.

“Me and my team are assuring you of how committed we are and how committed will be to strengthen relationship between Nigeria and Mali.” the President assured.

He however prayed that God will inspire and guide both President Buhari and Governor Nasir El-Rufai‎ to lead their respective domains to greater heights.

Earlier in his remarks, Governor El-Rufai said, Nigeria and Kaduna State in particular have a lot to learn from the Malian President in their attempt to unite the country and Kaduna State.

According to El-Rufai, ‎what Keita has done since his election as the President of the Republic of Mali by stabilising the country and bringing peace back to the republic is something that he is very proud of and hope that Kaduna and Nigeria  have a lot to learn from what Keita has done in Mali.

“We have‎ inherited a divided country in Nigeria and President Muhammadu Buhari will have to work very hard to kill those divisions. Here in Kaduna State, we have similar problems of division along religious and tribal lines.

“So, am happy that, the first visitor to our state is someone that is working very hard to cure his country of such cleavages. Am very grateful to you for visiting us. I can say with all sense of pride that, I am the only Governor that has received a President in his state.

“This is my first official function since being sworn-in yesterday. And it is a thing of joy for me to have my elder brother here who has always been a source of inspiration.

“I hope that our friendship and relationship will continue.‎ The leader of my clan, the Magajin Gari of Zazzau and all of originally, 300 years ago came from Mali to wage a Jihad in this part of the country, to establish the Sokoto Caliphate. We have not forgotten our root and we are very proud of our association, that is why you have seen the representative of the Emir of Zazzau from the ‘Malawa’ (Malians)’s clan. I hope very soon, we will visit you in Mali and continue to deepen and broaden our relationship and friendship.

“I hope and pray that the friendship and bond between Mali and Nigeria will continue to grow stronger.” El-Rufai.‎
