A former Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Dr. Maitama Sule, has expressed confidence in President Muhammadu Buhari’s leadership to turn around the fortunes of Nigeria.
Sule spoke on Thursday in Lafia, Nasarawa State at the Nigeria Immigration Service 2016 Comptroller-General’s Annual Conference and Stakeholders’ Forum.

According to him, President Buhari is a man of humility, integrity and foresight, who will ensure that the economy of the country is well managed.

“With the current economic situation in the country, Buhari is the right man that Nigeria needs to salvage it,” he said.

Sule expressed the hope that the Buhari administration would change Nigeria’s battered image abroad and curb corruption, which he described as the major problems facing the country.

He said: “What Nigeria needs is good leadership.

“Anywhere in the world, good leadership is what moves a country forward.

“We are lucky to have a man of humility, virtue, integrity and focus.
“We now have the kind of leadership that we have lacked.

“Now we have it in the leadership of Muhammadu Buhari.”

Sule also canvassed good leadership for other countries on the continent to enable it to overcome its economic challenges.

The one-time UN representative assured Nigerians that the government would provide the necessary equipment that would enable the NIS to carry out its assignments efficiently.
He said: “We need modern gadgets and equipment for our immigration officers to carry out their jobs in the best possible way and be at par with other immigration officers all over the world.

“I am certain that with President Buhari at the helm of affairs, the little issues hampering the efficiency of Immigration Service will be a thing of the past.”
