KadInvest: El-Rufai to Build $150m Poultry

The maiden Kaduna Economic and Investment Summit rapped up Thursday with the State Governor Nasir El-Rufai unveiling his plan to build the biggest poultry/hatchery in Sub Saharan Africa for about 150million US dollars.
El-Rufai who said he will soon perform the breaking ceremony of the poultry/hatchery at the end of ‘Kadinvest 2016’, announced that the Olam’s Poultry project will be built in Gwagwada, Chikun Local government area, Kilometre 24 Kaduna-Abuja Express way.
He added that, Dangote Group will also establish 10million dollars tomato farming and processing company in the state.
According to the him, “Special ground breaking of biggest poultry/hatchery in Sub Saharan Africa in Kaduna for 150million US dollars by Olams. Tomato farming and processing company 10million US dollars by Dangote is on the way”
The governor explains why investors should embrace business opportunities in the state, saying, Kaduna is a gateway to Northern Nigerian market with effective land management, raw materials availability among others.
Highlighting the position of the two-day summit, El-Rufai said participants at the summit has advised the state to improve competitiveness by developing clusters of production, adding that, federal government planned to partner with state to improve collection of statistics and train unemployed youths.
“Kaduna State Government is to adopt FG formula for developing the solid minerals sector. A proposal for world class developers to come to Kaduna to train the youths (science oriented) on IT and development of software. Development of tourism sector.
“Developing mining as a step for enhancing industrialization and job creation” El-Rufai noted.
