JAP Task KDSG on Polio Eradication
THE Kaduna State Chapter of Journalists Against Polio (JAP) has once again called on Kaduna State Government to reaffirmed Abuja Commitment on Polio eradication which remained one of the challenging factors posed serious threat as the state has been categorized as one of the most very High Risk State in poliomyelitis diseases in Nigeria.
The State coordinator of the JAP Mallam Lawal Dogara stated this in a press conference in Kaduna noting that the delay in providing political Commitment and lack of financial support Commitment will definitely affect the recorded success towards the polio eradication in the state.
According to him Kaduna State as matter of urgency has to sustain record been achieved in the polio eradication while commending the International Partners WHO and UNICEF for their untiring support toward the polio eradication in the state.
He said the partners has played a great role in fighting against polio and strengthening Routine Immunization and a such Kaduna State government has to complement the gesture by providing financial support.
Mallam Dogara also called on the parents and care givers to bring out their eligible children for immunization which will commence from 3rd September 2015 adding that as usual the Direct Oral Polio Vaccine DOPV will start on the 3rd – 5th September and House To House will counties from 5th -9th September 2015.
He said care givers and Traditional rulers has a great role to play in this round especially in monitoring the Immunization plus days and necessary logistics provides to achieved desire goals
