I Will Develop Nigeria Professional League- Yobo Vows

Former Nigerian international and skipper of the Super Eagles, Joseph Yobo, has pledged to do all his power to help the Nigeria Professional Football develop.
Yobo made the statement during his unveiling as the brand ambassador of the NPFL by FIFA President, Gianni Infantino, during a dinner in honour of the FIFA supremo at the Transcorp Hilton on Monday night.
The former Nigerian international, who was capped 100 times, had to put deals on hold for the NPFL role.
The FIFA president presented an NPFL-customised jersey to the former Super Eagles captain, making him the first-ever ambassador of the NPFL – a role which Yobo believes would aid him contribute to the development of the nation’s football.

“When this came up, I had many offers from Nigeria and abroad. I had to put them on hold. I had to do this because I believe in the Nigerian project. There is no place like home. Anything that will help protect the future of Nigerian football is okay by me and this deal will help boost the Nigerian league which is the main source of discovering talents for the national team,” the ex-international gushed.
Yobo further hailed the LaLiga-NPFL partnership and other innovations which he claimed had made the league better.
“I like the fact that teams can now aspire to win matches anywhere, home or away. I hope my involvement will make the league better even,” he added.
