House Speakership: Group Rally For Dogara, Urges APC to Carry Every Zone Along

A group “Arewa Youths And Women Coalition For Good Governance” has staged an awareness rally in Kaduna, in support of Hon. Yakubu Dogara as speaker House of Representative.

of the All Progressives Congress
(APC).
Speaking to journalists, the chairman of the group Hon. Awwal M. Zakari gave reasons for their support “our decision to support Hon. Dogara was informed by the need to give a sense of belonging to the North East Region which has been ravaged by insurgency for years now.”
According him the North East made the second largest contribution to the electoral fortunes of the APC in both the Presidential and National Assembly elections, adding “it came second to the North West and we are sure if not for the violence it would have been ahead of the North West.”
“It will therefore be fair to zone the speakership to the North East and particularly to Hon. Dogara who has distinguished himself as a credible, honest and patriotic legislator.” Awwal said.
He argued that Dogara’s intellectual capacity and his contributions in the parliament has Helped to deepen legislation in the House of Reps. Saying “he is an erudite scholar, lawyer per excellence, dynamic parliamentary administrator and that he is incorruptible.”
