Hayin Gada Shika Community Pledges Support for Polio Eradication

A Community, Hayin Gada Shika in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State earlier identified to opposed Polio Immunization have expressed confidence on meeting the dateline to eradicate the disease.

   The Village Head of Shika,  Mallam Abdulkarim Aboki stated this while Speaking at a meeting organized by an NGO, Journalists Against Polio JAP in collaboration with the World Health Organization in Hayin Gada Shika.

    He Explained that the communities have resolved to support government towards complete eradication of Polio in Nigeria and commended JAP for initiating town hall meetings and road shows to promote vaccination exercises.

In a speech, senior mobilization officer (SMO) of Giwa LGC, Mallam Zakariyya Zubairu maintained that if the current tempo of Polio eradication is maintained Nigeria would be delisted from countries with Polio issue.
   He appealed to communities and stakeholders not to relent on their efforts.

A public address system was presented to JAP by the senior mobilization officer (SMO) of Giwa LGC, Mallam Zakariyya Zubairu  at the event which was attended by other stakeholders including State monitors hajiya Hadiza Aliyu Shika and Samira Biliyaminu.
