Former PDP Guber Candidate Defects to APC in Edo

By Osei Peters

A former governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2012, in Edo State, General Charles Airhiavbere (rtd.), has decamped to the All Progressives Congress,
(APC).

Addressing the media on Sunday, he said that he decamped to the APC in the light of the wind of change blowing across the nation, through the
March 28 presidential and National Assembly
polls, “so that Edo State will continue to enjoy the benefits of the party at the centre”.

He added that “any politician who means well for the state will ground their arms of hate and join the change train of the APC government, ably led by Governor Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole.”

Airhiavbere added that with the APC at the
national and state level, “there will be rapid
development and all the campaign promises will
be delivered to our dear state, which is yearning
for rapid development.”
On insinuations that he left the PDP because of in-fighting, occasioned by superiority war between
him and some chieftains of the party in the state,
the retired military officer denied the allegations, saying that throughout his stay in the party, he did much campaigning for the party using his funds
