Fighting Crime: Youth Involvement is Key – Security Expert

Kaduna based security expert and youth crime preventor, Prince Okpara Oscar has said that the involvement of youths in the fight against crime and other social vices is key for any meaningful development, particularly in conflict management.
Prince Oscar in a chat with newsmen in Kaduna yesterday said his organization, Iwendi Youth Crime Prevention Initiative Nigeria (IYCPIN) is established apparently to help the government in the fight against crime among youths and also access valuable intelligence report that the regular security apparatus may not have.
Prince Oscar who is also the Sarkin Yaki Matasa while calling on the youths to be more patriotic in whatever they do, equally advised them not to be allowed by unpatriotic Nigerians for the destruction of the country in their selfish interest.
He called on the youth to instead give more support to the Nigerian police and other security organizations by availing them with useful information about suspected persons within their environments.
Prince Oscar who is the director general of IYCPIN, while congratulating the new acting Inspector General of poice, Ibrahim K.Idris on his elevation by President Muhammadu Buhari, urged him to do all within his powers to restore the lost relationship between the police and youths organizations.
He equally commended the chairman of the Police Service Commission, Sir Mike Okiro (IGP rtd) on the successful conduct of the recent police recruitment exercise, adding that he has shown the good stuff he is made up of.
Prince Oscar also commended the effort of the Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai in crime prevention in the state but urge him to further increase his contribution to the police by assisting them with modern gadgets such as GPS trackers in order to checkmate the issues of kidnapping and other form of vices.
He urge all citizens to let peace reign by joining hands with the present administration, the police and other security organizations in the quest of President Buhari to make Nigeria corruption-free, safe and secured for all.
