Federal Poly Bida produces transmitter
The Electrical Department of the Federal Polytechnic, Bida has produced a transmitter capable of transmitting visual and audio signals.
This was disclosed by the former Head of Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department, Engr. John Ihemelandu.
Ihemelandu said the transmitter can transmit both radio and video signals with a power more than 50 Watts in the Federal Polytechnic, Bida.
According to him, the transmitter was able to cover a wide range of zone with a clear video and audio from electrical engineering department to the administrative block.
He also explained that the aims of embarking on this project is to produce a transmitter which will aid teaching and learning of students in Federal Polytechnic, Bida.
The Engineer furthermore stated that the transmitter will help Mass Communication students to practice what they are trained for in the institution before going into the labour market, so that it won’t completely new to them.
Ihemelandu stressed that the project will also help the students to learn adequately with the television because people tend to believe what they see than what they are thought theoretically.
Furthermore, he disclosed that people in the Federal Polytechnic, Bida can use the transmitter to market and advertise their products and services for patronage.
Also, the Engineer said the transmitter will help students and staffs of Federal Polytechnic, Bida to have access to information wherever they are in the institution.
Ihemelandu encouraged the students of the Electrical and Electronics Department to work and corporate with their lecturers to achieve this great project that the department has embarked on for the benefit of all students in the institution.
