Empowerment: Yero Distributions N1bn To Beneficiaries Of MSMEDF

Kaduna state Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero has flagged off the presentation of cheques to the beneficiaries of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Fund (MSMEDF) in partnership with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
Governor in his speech at the occasion said the fund is a veritable means for accelerated development through provision of funds to entrepreneurs to grow businesses and reduce unemployment in the State.
He further said the effort was in line with the road map for accelerated economic empowerment, poverty reduction and job creation among the people of the state.
“This initiative is designed to empower our citizens as well as create employment for teeming unemployed youths. Our cardinal objective is to create wealth for our people at all levels through provision of support and finance.
“Over the last two years, our administration has adopted a comprehensive approach to the economic emancipation of the people. Under this plan, Government has continued to empower the people with skills, access to finance as well as training in basic business management.
“This approach is being enhanced through our various partnerships with other agencies of the Federal Government.
“In this regards, our administration has provided skills and finance to over 14,000 youths and women since assumption of office. Which include the training of 7,650 youths and women in various skills under the SURE-P Skill Acquisition Programme. At their graduation, beneficiaries of the programme were provided with Starter-Parks and Take-Off Grants with which to establish their own businesses.
“Furthermore, the present administration, in partnership with the Federal Government has engaged 2000 graduates under the Graduate Internship Scheme (GIS). Kaduna State participants in the scheme have since been enrolled
