Election: Heavy security in Sokoto as electorates undergo accreditation
Heavy security presence in Sokoto, as electorates go about the accreditation exercise in the metropolis.
Military checkpoints mount on major roads in town and other security agencies were seen going about their routine patrol.
While stopped and search exercise was going on, those without voters card are detained for some times, even pedestrians without voters card are questioned by the security agencies, but are allowed to go if found without any offence.
Most of the polling stations visited were calm, while accreditation still ongoing and voting has been fixed till 1:30pm.
The party agents at Garkarbal Yauri, with registration area, Sokoto/Zamfara B under Sokoto South Local area with local government code 17 said the Card Reader is working perfectly and so far accredited over 80 prospective voters without identifying any clone Card as at the time of filing this report
So far, the state is calm as people are seen moving peacefully, without any report of chaos.
