Clergies, Friends, Family Extols Late Silas Ishaya, as He’s Laid to Rest

It was a special service of tribute and commendation as clergymen, friends colleagues and family members of late Mr. Silas Ishaya, trooped out in their numbers and gathered together at the Maranatha Baptist Church, Ungwan Boro, Kaduna for his final interment on Saturday.

Mr. Silas, who many described as jovial, generous, kindhearted, steadfast and above all dedicated and committed to the work of God, died 10th of August 2019, after a brave battle against a protracted illness.
Born on 15th June 1964 to the family of Late Mr. Ishaya Aboi, Mr. Silas, until his death was a senior staff of the Federal Inland Revenue Service Kaduna (FIRS). He had also previously worked with the Federal Ministry of Water Resources and the Kaduna State Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, where He started his career in the Civil Service.
The Procurement and Supply Chain Management expert, was married to his wife, Mrs Silas Grace, Mr. Silas who died at the age of 55years left behind five children, amongst whom are; Silas Gloria, Silas Obadiah, Silas Peace, Silas Manasseh and Silas Gaius.
In their various testimonies about the life and times of Mr. Silas, Clergymen who spoke, recalled how he composed different hymns for choir of the Baptist family in Kaduna as a member and later deputy director of the choir.
They said he lived a Godly life worthy of emulation. Apart from his commitment and dedication to the work God, the clergies added that he is comical and jokes very well, composes gospel songs, loves farming, he hardworking and always determine to achieve his goals.
“He is jovial, he will always leave you laughing when you visit him, even in his last days on the sick bed.
“There is no dull moment when you are close to him and his wife his nature and his personality comical, he knows God and he had served God to the best if his ability.” The added.
In her tribute to the she called “chairman”, his wife MRS SILAS GRACE said, “You’re the best friend I ever had in my life, your jokes still linger in my heart call you chairman & you call me chairlady especially when am doing one thing or the other, you always say “ogungi, come and rest”.
“You have spoiled me with love and jokes. Who will tell me does jokes again? You have always believed in me and that alone make me stronger I will forever miss you chairman but thank God i was able to tap from your grace of leadership, thank you so much. Sleep on and enjoy your new home.”
His first child SILAS GLORIA, on her part said “My great, jovial, kind, peaceful, caring and loving daddy. hmmm you have left this wicked world for us, I will really miss your presence in our lives you will always be in our heart till we meet to part no more. I love you Dad.”
For SILAS OBADIAH BOBBY, who described his father as a mentor, said “Firstly, I want to appreciate God for everything that happened. It really hurt to watch a gentle soul, kindhearted and a unique mentor like you suffer. Father, you were the happiest man i ever knew and one of the reasons for this was your singing faith, someone can only feel your significance if he/she move close to you.
“Dad am most glad that I was by your side until your struggles finally ended, that alone made me stronger because am tired of crying like a baby. I can still remember the last thing you told me
“That you will not want any form of distrust between us”. I will miss you dearly “father” because you complete me. Rest on super DAD.”
SILAS PEACE ZILEE his third child have this to say about the man she saw as her best teacher, “My childhood was happy and glossy all because of you, you left me with so many joyful memories, you taught me the best and were and will still be an example and inspiration to me.
“Now you are gone and people are telling me to be strong. but today, I cannot hold back my tears because sorrow has settled in my heart because the very best part of me is no more…..Who am i going to trouble again? Who is going to call me “ZEE”. Deaths snatch you away from me without even giving you a chance to see the woman you have raise me to become. I will miss you so much Daddy. Rest in peace.”
SILAS TAM MANASSEH who is the fourth child said, “I was very shock when I heard about your death. Daddy, I wish I could just give you a half and quarter of my life just to stay with you for a moment, you’ve played your part in my life, which I have learnt so many things from you. You are gone but not forgotten. still remain fresh in our hearts and mind. Rest in peace daddy we are all going to miss your presence through your words of virtue. Rest in peace Daddy.”
As for SILAS GAIUS, his last and fifth child it is hard to believe he is no more, saying “Dear Dad, it’s hard to believe you are no more I can’t really believe am going to miss your Presence, Love, Care, Laughter, Advice, most especially our Family Love. Your word still remains fresh in my heart. I hear your voice even without seeing you, my heart is still bleeding with tears but what more can Ido i know you are resting with god, till we meet to part no more.”
