Chelsea have progressed to the quarter-final of the FA Cup after they thrashed Manchester City 5-1 at Stamford Bridge thanks to goals from Diego Costa, Willian, Gary Cahill, Eden Hazard and substitute, Bertrand Traore.

City manager, Manuel Pellegrini opted to rest most of his senior players preferring to give his youngsters against a Chelsea side that fielded their first team.

Chelsea dominated the game for most part of the first half and then broke the deadlock when Hazard set Diego Costa up. The Spaniard, unmarked headed the ball home to give Chelsea the lead.

But their advantage was not going to last long. Seconds after City restarted the game, Nigerian striker, Kelechi Iheanacho played a neat one-two with David Faupala setting him (Faupala) up to score the equalizer.

But from then on, it was all Chelsea. The Blues assaulted their young opponents but could not score as the game ended 1-1 at half time.

Chelsea came out gun-blazing in the second half and were rewarded with four goals. The Blues even missed a penalty after substitute Oscar squandered his chance form the spot.
