Abducted Edo chief regains freedom

The Ihama of Udo, Chief Francis Ihama, who was reportedly kidnapped from his residence in Ovia South-West Local Government Area of Edo State, has regain freedom.

Gunmen had on April 10 reportedly ordered him into a Toyota Sienna and sped off about 8pm.

The kidnappers were said to have been mistaken for visitors as they operated quietly.

It was, however, learnt that Ihama was set free by his captors in the Lekki area of Lagos State last Friday, after 12 days in captivity.

It was also learnt that members of his family had been mobilsed to Lagos to bring him back home.

Although, it could not be ascertained whether a ransom was paid, a source had disclosed that the kidnappers had demanded a huge sum before he was unable to pay.

When contacted for comments on Monday, the Public Relations Officer,  Moses Nkombe, said that he would get back to our correspondent.

But he had yet to do so as of the time of filing this report.
