628 Journalists, Associates Benefit from New Nigerian Newspapers Medical Outreach in Kaduna, as Chapel Hails Partners

Over 628 Journalists, family members and their associates on Tuesday benefitted from the New Nigerian Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), medical outreach.

The medical outreach, which was done during the their Health Week at the NUJ, Secretariat in Kaduna in partnership with the National Eye Centre Kaduna, National Ear Care Center Kaduna, Federal Neuro-psychiatric Hospital Kaduna, Harmony Hospital Kaduna, Kaduna State University Teaching Hospital (Barau Diko) and National Blood Transfusion Service Northwest Zone, was supported by the Nigerian Breweries PLC.

The beneficiaries received free medical checkups and treatment in various area of the in their bodies such as; the eyes, ear, nose, neck, psychiatric related blood pressure and sugar level, hepatitis and many more.

The beneficiaries also received free tips on healthy living and free counseling.

In his appreciation message to their partners, Chairman of the NUJ-NNN Chapel, Comrade Nicholas Dekera and the Secretary Ibrahim Adamu thank various management of the hospitals for their support and keeping faith with the union.

According to them, “we thank the Chief Medical Director, National Eye Centre Kaduna, Dr. Alhassan Mahmud and staff of National Eye Centre Kaduna, The Medical Director National Ear Care Center Mustapha Abu and Staff of National Ear Care Center Kaduna, The Medical Director Federal Neuro-psychiatric Hospital Kaduna Professor Abdulkareem Jika Yusuf and Staff of the hospital, The Medical Director Harmony Hospital Dr. Elias Anyebe and Staff of Harmony Hospital, The Chief Medical Director Kaduna State University Teaching Hospital Baraudiko Proffessor Tabari Musa and Staff of the Hospital.”

The Union also commended the Management and staff of National Blood Transfusion Service Northwest Zone for their support, the Brewery Manager, Abbey Ajayi and the Public Affairs Manager North for providing assorted Maltina drinks and others.Also, the Union thanked the National Union of Food and Beverages for the show of solidarity.

“We also commend the Kaduna Council Chairman of the NUJ, Comrade Adamu Yusuf for his fatherly role for always giving protection to New Nigerian Chapel and other chapels within the council which demonstrates his love and solidarity which is panacea for effective and objective media practice.” The added.
