2027: Shehu ABG Woos Defeated PDP Aspirants, Seeks United Front in Kaduna

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Kaduna State, Hon. Usman Shehu Bawa, popularly known as Shehu ABG, has reached out to aspirants who lost the party’s primary elections, urging them to close ranks with the party’s candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Shehu ABG made the appeal at a meeting with PDP candidates and former aspirants at his campaign office in Kaduna on Saturday.

The meeting brought together candidates for the National Assembly and Kaduna State House of Assembly, alongside aspirants who participated in the party’s previous primary elections.

According to Shehu ABG, the party cannot afford divisions among its candidates and members if it is to mount a coordinated campaign for the 2027 elections.

He urged those who did not emerge from the primaries to support the successful candidates, stressing that the interests of the party and its supporters should take precedence over individual ambitions.

“As we prepare for the general elections, it is important that we set aside our differences and work together for the success of our party,” he said.

Shehu ABG said the PDP had a responsibility to present a united platform to voters, adding that cooperation among candidates could strengthen the party’s campaign across Kaduna State.

“We have a vision that would move Kaduna State forward. We also have a responsibility to our party and our constituents. By supporting one another, we can amplify our voices and present a united front to the electorate,” he said.

The governorship candidate also condemned what he described as attacks against opposition parties, saying such actions were “primitive” and contrary to the political development of the country.

The participants subsequently committed to working together and strengthening solidarity within the party ahead of the 2027 polls, according to a statement signed by Yusuf Idris, spokesperson to Shehu ABG.
