National Horse Racing In Honour Of El-Rufai Holds In Kaduna

Solidarity horse racing in honour of Kaduna State Governor, Malam. Nasir el-Rufai is holding today and tomorrow Sunday at the Murtala Mohammed Square Kaduna.
According to the Kaduna Turf club racing secretary, Alhaji Bashir Mohammed Sambo, Nine (9) races will feature.
He said, on the first day five (5) ordinary races will feature, while on the final day Sunday, four major races will be featured.
Four major trophies and cash prices are to be won during the two day tournament. The first trophy is the Iyan Zazzau (Alhaji Bashir Aminu) cup and the category is 7 fourlongs.
The second trophy is the solidarity Cup and the category is division 3 involving 8 fourlongs. The third trophy up for grab is His Highness Emir of Zazzau Cup with category 2 division involving 9 fourlongs.
The fourth trophy is the Kaduna State governors Cup and the category is division 1 or open involving 10 fourlongs.
Cash prices to be won are 500,000, 300,000 and 200,000 for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions.
Top class horses and Jockeys are expected to showcase their skills during the tournament. Prominent horse owners across the nation and international are expected to participate.
The honourable Minister of Sport Barrister Solomon Dalung is expected at the opening ceremony while Governor el-Rufai is expected to serve as the guest of honour, Royal fathers will serve as special guest of honour.
