Yero Campaign Organization Condemns APC’s Campaign of Violence, Destruction…. Not true APC, says

Ahead of both the forthcoming presidential and governorship elections in Kaduna , the Yero/Bajoga campaign organization has expressed worry over what it termed “deliberate and calculated attempt by All Progressive Congress, (APC) in Kaduna to weep up sentiment and stir up violence against the ruling party , Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.”
Addressing news men at press briefing held Kaduna State Media Corporation’s Headquarters today, the Chairman Media and Publicity Committee , Yero/Bajoga Campaign Organization , Alhaji Yakubu Lere said there was no basis for the attacks on Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero and his campaign team.
Lere, said a situation where APC thugs and supporters frequently attack PDP supporters is undemocratic and unacceptable.
According to him, “APC thugs constantly attacked passerby , maim and destroy posters , billboards as well as promotional materials belonging to PDP.” He stated.
“The day , El-Rufai declared for governor ,the day Buhari visited Kaduna and day El’Rufai rounded off his campaign , the destruction by APC supporters were monumental.”
He maintained that “Nasir El-Rufai the APC
gubernatorial candidate was never attacked throughout his campaign
even at PDP strongholds but El-Rufai and Hunkuyi have instigated their
thugs who attacked Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero’s campaign train at
Udawa village in Birnin Gwari local Government, Bakin Ruwa in Igabi
Government Area’’
He however, called on PDP supporters , sympathisers and followers in the state to shun violence and embrace .
On the allegation that the PDP was behind the circulation of posters
bearing the pictures of Governor Yero, El-Rufai and Buhari, the Media
and Publicity committee said
‘’investigations revealed that the
posters were the handwork of some APC members who say El-Rufai is not
a good material for their party and that is why among those who came
out en mass to welcome Governor Yero and his entourage were the APC
members’’
Lere reassured the teaming supporters of their confident to emerge
victorious in the polls ‘’we are confident that Governor Muktar
Ramalan Yero will by God’s willing and the support of Kaduna people
emerge victorious in the April polls’’.
However, Reacting to the claims of the committee, the spoke person of APC
gubernatorial candidate Mr. Sam Aruwa disagree with their claims
saying APC is a peace loving party adding that it was Yero who hired
political thugs to destroy APC facilities in Zaria under the watch of security men.
