The challenge in Professional Golf is greater than Amateur golf- Sani

A professional Golfer Sani Idris of Kaduna Golf Club has admitted that the challenge in the Professional Golf is enormous and cannot be compared to that of the Amateur Golf.
Sani who recently won qualification from Amateur category to a professional golfer during the recently conducted Golf School at the Kaduna Golf club by the Professional Golf Association of Nigeria PGAN where Sani finished among the first ten out of 96 golfers that took part in the Golf school of whom only twenty-two qualified as professional Golfers.
He further revealed that he is ready for the daunting challenges of professional golfing, but however said he is aware that it is not going to be a tea-party, but with determination and hard work that saw him through the amateur category he would make is mark on the professional scene.
Sani who spoke to newsmen during a one-day tournament organised in his honour at the Kaduna Golf Club over the weekend, where he added that with his sponsorer, His Highness the Emir of Birnin Gwari, Alhaji Jibrin Zubairu Mai Gwari who has over the years stood by him from the cradle stage in the game to the level he has attained, God’s willing he would go places.
“In fact, plan is underway by my sponsor to take me to South Africa for further training that would expose me to many skills of the game, which would equip and prepare me for the challenges ahead
“During my days in the amateur I won many competitions courtesy His Highness the Emir of Birnin Gwari who sponsor me for all these competitions and after realizing that the challenges at the amateur category is no longer competitive I now yearn for bigger challenges and my sponsor encouraged me to pursue a career in the game of golf, which made me to participate in the Golf School, which he was the major sponsor that saw me qualified as a professional today.
Also speaking at the event is Engineer Arabi Bello, former Captain of the Kaduna Golf club, who praises Pro Sani Idris and described him as a gentleman who benefited from his cool-headedness and today he has become a professional golfer.
Arabi also took time to appreciate the gesture of His Highness the Emir of Birnin Gwari, Alhaji Jibrin Zubairu Mai Gwari who he said has being helpful in many ways to the Kaduna Golf club as a whole, particularly his efforts in the sudden transformation of the course from Brown to Green.
On his part, Vice Captain of Kaduna Golf Club, Mr. Mike Okpere charged on young golfers to be focused and dedicated to whatever they are doing. Stressing that this is the only way they can achieve success.
He however expressed regret that other four members of the club who took part in the Golf School could not make it. He enjoined them to train harder and remained focus on their game.
Meanwhile, Ibrahim Abdullahi of Zaria golf club emerged winner of the Pro-Sani Idris Special Kitty with 73 gross closely followed by Audu dahiru of the same Zaria Golf club with played 79 gross while Sani Wakili of Wuyep Golf club finished best net with 67 net.
