The political intolerance exhibited by the Adams Oshiomhole administration in Edo state has taken a new twist as members of the road transport unions in the state are daily being molested and beaten up by the hired thugs of the outgoing government for resisting the instruction to use the stickers of a particular APC aspirant on their cars.
Taxi and bus drivers who brand their cars with the stickers of the the aspirant of the PDP, particularly frontline aspirant Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu are beaten, sometimes lynched by the thugs allegedly on the orders of the state government.
At about 2.30pm today, at Ring Road Benin city, a young Edo state resident and taxi driver, who opted to hide his name for fear of reprisal, was beaten up by thugs on the orders of Shaaba who works for the governor. His offence was that he was using the stickers of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu instead of the stickers of another aspirant of the APC.

The taxi driver, who is a native of Benin City and father of five children, was beaten to pulp, his clothes torn to shreds and and made naked at the Ring Road.
The young man rushed to the Edo state PDP secretariat to make a formal complaint. Responding passionately, the Director General of the Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, Barr. Frank Erewele, also known as Okafi, thanked the man for his solidarity with the campaigns of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu and warned the Edo state government to respect the rule of law and the will of the people and stop harassing the people of Edo state in their legitimate decisions. Okafi warned that while the PDP is law abiding, it would surely not hesitate to respond accordingly to any further of provocation by the APC. The victim was advised to go and report to the nearest Police Station and continue to show solidarity until the governor, who many on Twitter now call #Oshiomolest , and his party are removed from power at Osadebey Avenue in November.
