South West PDP Celebrates With Muslims On Eid-el- Maulud
The Peoples Democratic Party, Southwest Zone has celebrated with Muslims faithfuls on the occasion of this year’s Eid-El-Maulu.
The PDP in a press release signed by the National Vice Chairman of the party in the zone, Dr. Eddy Olafeso,
“The PDP in the southwest celebrates with our Muslim compatriots on the Eid El Maulud.
According to Olafeso “The essence of this celebration is to recall the significance of a pious prophet who gave to the world the religion of Islam.
“Prophet Mohammed preached peace, piety and total service to God, therefore there remains a total compulsion for all our Muslim compatriots to rededicate themselves to the service of God as espoused by the Prophet.
“We therefore congratulate and celebrate with them today.
We also note that in most of the South West, religion, particularly Islam remains a unifying force as families have adherents of the two major religions cohabiting in peace with each other and that remains unique, therefore the responsibility to maintain religious amity and tolerance remains a permanent feature of our culture which must be sustained at every cost.
