Shehu Sani Pay up Journalist’s Hospital Bill in Kaduna
Senator representing Kaduna Central and Chairman House Committee on Foreign and Domestic Debts, Senator Shehu Sani visited the Kaduna Correspondent of People’s Daily Newspaper that was involved in motor accident on Monday.
The lawmaker who donated a hundred thousand naira for immediate care of the journalist, that sustained severe injuries and multiple fractures after the accident , also told the management of Saint Gerald’s Catholic Hospital to transfer him to a special ward for proper attention and promised to settle all expenses incurred .
The journalist , Femi Oyelola was going for an assignment at Ungwar Romi on Monday morning was he knocked down by a car on high speed . He sustained injuries and multiple fractures.
In a brief remark during the visit at Saint Gerald’s Catholic Hospital Saturday evening , Senator Sani described Oyelola as a hardworking and refined journalists that should not be abandoned during this trying period .
He said in all societies across the world, journalists are special people that require special treatment considering the role they play as bridge builders.
According to him , that was why even when he was not formally informed about the unfortunate accident , he had no option but to visit him.
Speaking to a group of journalists after the visit , the Senator said , ” Nobody informed me about Femi’s accident ,but I saw on it on Facebook and I believe as a journalists , he should be properly taken care of .”
