Sex For Mark: Auchi Poly Dismisses 27 Lecturers

Some lecturers of the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi have been found guilty of engaging in exchanging sex for marks.

The lecturers, numbering up to 27 were also found culpable of collecting money in exchange for marks, amid other unethical practices.

This was disclosed by Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr Sanusi Jimah during the 25th Convocation ceremony of the institution.

According to him, eleven of the affected staff were dismissed, the appointments of six were terminated, while 10 others were downgraded.

He added that sex for marks and sorting of lecturers by students is however now in the past, as lecturers are now dragging students to management for attempting to compromise them.

“The issues of sex for marks and sorting of lecturers are no longer there because recently, we have four cases on my table where four lecturers have reported students who attempted to influence them and the students on their own expelled themselves because they were invited to appear before a panel.”

Chairman, Governing Council, Olarewaju Oloyo, represented by Prince Felix Oba Okojie, also said the institution will no longer tolerate any immoral act of staff.
