Self-reliance: NGO Urges Well Meaning Individuals to Support Less Privilege

The president and founder “Lieutenant Colonel Kabiru Yusuf help for heroes foundation”, Alhaji Mashood Kayode Yusuf at weekend charged well-meaning individuals in the society to extend helping hands to the less privileged in the society so they can become self-reliant.
Alhaji Mashood, stated this while presenting relief items to widow of a soldier in Kaduna, who died in service to the Nation.
Represented by the matron of the foundation Hajiya Shola Raji, the UK based philanthropist noted that the gesture is aimed at complementing the effort of the Government and the Nigerian army in providing succour to the widows and family of the soldiers who died or got injured while serving their father land.
“The government and the Nigerian army is doing a lot to assist the widows and family of those who died or got injured while serving their father land but the government cannot be everywhere at all times it is left for us as individuals and non -governmental organizations to contribute our own quota to assist and carter for the family they left behind “ He said.
He added that the foundation is committed to doing it’s best to provide support to the Widows of fallen heroes, those injured and retired.
He solicited for support and partnership of all those who are able and willing to assist the less privileged.
In her response, the beneficiary, Khadija Idris Haruna who lost her husband, Lance Corporal Muhammad Gaddafi Ado to Book Harm Terrorists on 17th of April 2017 in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State thanked the foundation for the gesture which she said will go a long way in providing relief to her family.
Khadija who spoke in Hausa language, said, “i can’t express how happy and grateful i am to this foundation for the help. I heard about the organization and the help it rendered to widows so I decided to go there, i never knew i was going to get such help. Am very grateful to them and i pray that Almighty God will continue to bless them and their families for this good deed.”
Also present at the presentation were Alhaji Bolaji Yusuf a board member of the charity organization and Mrs Bashirat Yusuf wife of the late lieutenant colonel Kabiru Yusuf.
Items donated include food items, beverages, toiletries and cash gift .
The Charity Organization was set up to immortalize late Lt. Col. Kabiru Yusuf who went missing in action when the dreaded Boko Haram insurgent attacked Ghashigar in Maiduguri, Borno State on 16th October, 2016, later found dead by the river bank three months after and laid to rest on 06 January, 2017.
