Scores killed, Church, houses burnt as Fulani herdsmen invade Enugu community

Several persons have been killed in a community in Enugu State by suspected Fulani herdsmen, according to Vanguard newspaper report.

This was just as the herdsmen also set ablaze a Catholic Church building.

The Fulani herdsmen were reported to have invaded Odozi-Obodo community at Onu-Eke, Nimbo in Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State in the early hours of Monday.

Over 500 Fulani herdsmen were reported to have invaded the community.

Christ Holy Catholic Church in the community was said to have been burnt by the invaders.
Eleven other houses were confirmed razed.

The Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, Ebere Amaraizu, confirmed the development to Vanguard on the telephone.
Amaraizu said the deployment of a combined team of the Police and the Army has been effected.
