School embarks on cleaning streets in Kaduna
As part of its social responsibility to its host community, Dialogue Girls College, staff and students on Thursday embarked on cleaning some streets in the Kaduna metropolis.
Addressing newsmen, Principal of the College, Sakinatu Nasir noted that cleaning of the streets is part of the College’s contribution to its host community in line with the Mallam Nasir El-Rufai led administration policy of keeping Kaduna clean.
Hajiya Sakinatu added that it is also in line with the principle of Islam to assist their neighbours in cleaning their environment, saying the College took it as a responsibility to help in cleaning the neighbourhood for both hygienic and spiritual benefits.
The Principal, who disclosed that it is the 4th year that the cleaning exercise started, promised that by God’s grace it will continue and even bring on board other policies that will directly benefit the host community.
One of the students, Khadijat Sabo Ibrahim expressed happiness for participating in the cleaning exercise; she commended the principal and management of the school for this visionary purpose.
A motorist, John Auta plying the road told the media that the cleaning of the street by Dialogue Girls College is a welcome development that deserves to be emulated by others.
Similarly, a shop owner on Alkali road, Mallam Garba Adamu who spoke onbehalf of other traders said they have nothing to say but to ask for Allah’s blessings on the students and staff of Dialogue Girls College.
Staff and students of the College came out in their numbers carrying brooms, buckets, rakes e.t.c started the cleaning from Alkali road and later moved to Isa Kaita road in Kaduna North Local Government area.
