Safe School Protocol: FHANI trains project Staff
Family Health Advocates in Nigeria Initiative FHANI project team implementing the Rise Up project had their capacity built on the safe school declaration protocol (SSD) and the nedd for e-learning policy in kaduna state.
The Chairman FHANI Tijanni Bala Mohammed welcome all the participants and the facilitator to the training, and asked all to listen carefully.
In her open remarks the Rise Up fellow implementing the project Grace Maikano said the training was part of the capacity building for the project implementation team with the sole aim of increased knowledge on the issue the project seeks to advocate.
The Facilitator, Mr. Benjamin Maigari a Rise Up cohort 2 fellow 2018 who gave an overview of the advocacy Rise Up project of Public Health Institute, Oakland, California, USA and being implemented by the Family Health Advocates in Nigeria Initiative, (FHANI) noted that although the State was exercising e-learning, but it had no policy document.
Earlier in his presentation Mr Benjamim Maigari said The Safe Schools Declaration is an international commitment by countries all over the world, including Nigeria expressing support for the protection of students, teachers and their schools during armed conflicts as well as the importance of continued education outside class during emergencies.
He said the policy if formulated and adopted will increase retention and completion of girls in schools because they were the most vulnerable during insecurity
