Protest: Presidency Directs Ministry Of Finance To Pay Falcons Today
The Presidency has ordered the ministry of finance and sports to pay the Super falcons their outstanding allowances today.
Recall that the Super Falcons who won the African Women Nations Cup in Cameroon recently have been protesting over the non payment of their match allowances and bonuses by the Nigerian Football Federation ( NFF).
The Super Falcons who had taken their protest to Aso Rock gate over their unpaid allowances, were addressed by the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari.
Speaking to State House correspondents yesterday, Kyari said the problem have been resolved and the ministries of sports and finance have been directed to pay the Falcons today.
“The problem have been resolved. They have done us proud and we congratulated them. The Ministries of Sports and Finance have been directed to pay tomorrow( Thursday) . I don’t know the details of the arrears. But they have been directed to pay, He said.
Kyari who has been away from the Villa for few weeks, was on his way into the Villa when he met the protesting Falcons at the gate.
The players led by team captain Rita Chikwelu expressed their displeasure on the non-payment of their allowances.
Kyari had while appealing to the girls to return to the hotel, had assured them that the government would resolve the situation in two days.
