Presidential Poll: Jonathan’s acceptance averts National Crisis – Wali

Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Governorship candidate in Sokoto, Alhaji Abdallah Wali said on Thursday that President Goodluck Jonathan’s congratulatory call to General Muhammadu Buhari has done so much to douse tension in the country and has averted the country’s drift into crises which is a prove to Jonathan statement that his ambition was not worth the blood of a single Nigerian”
Wali who hailed President Goodluck Jonathan’s statesmanship and the spirit of sportsmanship he exhibited when he conceded defeat and congratulated the APC Presidential candidate who emerged winner in the March 28 Presidential Election.
He further said Jonathan’s action has proved him a true democrat whose action ought to be emulated by Nigerian and African politicians.
“It is an uncommon characteristics in Africa and many parts of the world for a sitting president to not only lose an election but accept loss in good faith and congratulate the winner.”
Wali who made this know, in a press statement made available to journalists in Sokoto however urged the people of the state to consider the outcome of the Presidential election as the will of Allah and to also re-strategise for the April 11 governorship election.
He added that the people should choose the right personality to lead them as governor based on good character and achievable promises not necessarily on the party he comes from.
He emphasised that, only by so doing that the state’s problems in areas of portable drinking water, education, health and rural infrastructure would be solved.
