Philanthropist, Sunny Okugwu Donate Plots of Land to Kaduna NUJ
The Executive Committee of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kaduna State Council, led by its new Chairman Comrade Adamu Yusuf paid Courtesy call on a Philanthropist and President/Founder of Black Gold, Chief Sonny Okogwu at his ShipHouse Resident, Marafa Estate Kaduna where, he donated ten plots of land to Kaduna State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ, at Sabon Gayan, Chikun Local Government.
According to a statement signed by the council’s Secretary, Dauda Idris Doka, the gesture is aimed at alleviating the suffering of journalists in the area of land and residential ownership.
Chief Okogwu advised that if the Land is developed, Journalists can concentrate and do their job better.
He said, high rent, while salaries are meager and living in unconducive environment where their security of lives and property is threaten is unacceptable.
The gesture according to the philanthropic is the beginning and a continue process until reasonable number of Journalists in the state have their personal houses.
Chief Sonny Okogwu also promises to provide sporting facilities at the Centre for exercise and to keep Journalists fit at all times.
The Council Chairman Comrade Adamu Yusuf who led other members of the Exco at the visit thank him for his kind gesture and assured members determination to work with him for the development of the state and the country as a whole.
