Only Sound Education Can Guarantee Sustainable Economic Development – El-Rufai

Kaduna State Governor Malam. Nasir El-Rufai has emphasised that sustainable economic development can only be built on a sound educational foundation.
Delivering his address during the Closing Ceremony of the Batch ‘A’ Stream 2 orientation course of the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) in Kaduna. El-Rufai said “it is in this regard, that government adopted the policy of engaging a greater percentage of corps members in the education sector with view to providing a sound base upon which it’s Change agenda could be realised.”
Represented by his deputy, Arc. Barnabas Bala (Bantex), he urged the corps members to pursue the realisation of their goals in practical terms by taking their host community as their home and join in contributing to its upliftment.”
Arc. Barnabas, assured the corps members that the state will continue to pay the allowances of those posted to state establishments as at when due, saying “Kaduna state government will continue to provide enabling environment for you to discharge your responsibilities.”
Hilary Nasamu the NYSC State Coordinator in his speech said though they where challenges during the orientation course period, but acknowledged that all challenges were surmountable. while demanding the state government intervention in sinking new deeper boreholes to replace the old ones that are dried up as permanent solution to the usual occurrences.
He thank the corps members for their discipline and commitment displayed during their orientation course and charged them to demonstrate same in their places of primary assignment.
Nasamu advised them to desist from act capable of denting the image of the NYSC, urging them not to play truancy but charged them to settle down as soon as they finish every necessary documentation.
He encouraged them to adapt quickly when they arrived their host communities and do their best to appreciate and respect the customs and culture of the people, adding “I implore you to reciprocate this goodwill by being contributing to the improvement of your host communities.”
