‎President, Kaduna Baptist Conference, Reverend. David Danladi Dagah‎ made this assertion yesterday while fielding questions from Journalists at the close of the 39th Annual session of the Kaduna Baptist Conference with the theme “Working out our salvation by doing all things without grumbling or disputing” at the Baptist Village, Kujama, Chikun local. Government area of Kaduna State.

‎He said, “it is true that the Federal Government is fighting corruption, but we must go back to the basis, and work on our mentality.”

He was of the view that people steal because their is sickness in the heart‎ and unless and untill that sickness of the heart is cured, corruption will continue.

“We need the fear of God and working in his ways, we must go back to the basis, thank God for the success‎es so far achieved by the Federal government in the fight against corruption, the government is yet to torch the core of the matter which is the heart of man.

“Before a man steals, he has pondered about it in his heart‎ before carrying out the action, so let’s deal with the heart first by disabusing the minds of the people not to think corrupt or stealing, then corruption will disappear in the system.”

On the issue of ‎diseases currently ravaging ‎the world today such as Ebola, Zika virus, Lassa Fever, bird flu among several other, Reverend Dagah said it is simply the fulfilment of the  word of God occasioned by the lack of God’s fear in the minds of people.‎

According to him, “God said to the children of Israel that if they don’t believe in him and obey his words, diseases will come upon them, so this outbreak of diseases is a fulfilment of what God has said.

“People have refused to obey and follow God’s ways, that is why things like this are happening, and for things like this to stop, we must go back to God‎, we must live the way God want us to live, we must not live the way we are living, using religion as a cover, but if we live by the teachings of our religion in the fear of God, this things will die down.”

‎He expressed expectations that participants to the conference will go home focused to work out their salvation, by doing the right things and doing them without grumbling and living in peace with one another.

Meanwhile, he called on leaders at all levels to live by example and the fear of God.

Earlier in his goodwill message to the convention, Kaduna State Governor, Mal. Nasir El-Rufai‎ charged participants at the conference to redouble their efforts and commitment in the quest for sustainable peaceful coexistence regardless of denomination, ethnicity and political differences.

Represented by the overseer Bureau for religious affairs, Christian matters Mrs Kande Bagi, the governor reiterated his. Commitment towards policies that will better the lives of the people of the state but called for supports and prayers‎.‎
