Online, is the Future of Journalism – Sen Makarfi

Former Kaduna State Governor, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, on Friday said that online, is the future of journalism because majority of youths now rely on it as their source of information.
Makarfi who was also the former senator representing Kaduna North Senatorial Zone task the Northern-based Arewa Online Publishers on the need to prioritize developmental journalism.
He also advised the online publishers to always emphasize on national unity and integration in order to contribute meaningfully to the overall development of the country.
According to him, the world is fast becoming palm top, hence the need for information managers to focus on those things that “unite us other than those that can divide the country.”
The Senator, who stated while playing host to Arewa Online Publishers at his Kaduna residence, urged them to write good report about the North and the country as a whole.
“Most people in the North prefer radio and television but our youths have gone digital. So it is paramount that you bridge the gap.
“The future of the media is online. So it is not surprising to see even the big national dailies now have online version.”
