Lawal, noted that the situation of malnutrition in the state is worrisome, hence the need for all to join hands in tackling the menace.

According to Him, partnering with the media outfit has become necessary because of their role in information dissemination across the state, which he said would awareness among parents and caregivers, on the best way to prevent malnutrition.

“We want you to help in educating our women on various nutrition messages for them to know the right food they have around them and how to prepare them that can help prevent malnutrition.

Also Speaking, CS-SUNN’s Advocacy Committee Chairman in the state, Mr Steven Odawn,
appealed to KSMC management to designate a dedicated officer to be attending the committee’s meetings.

He said the participation of the officer would help increase the visibility of nutrition issues in the media, as an effective strategy for awareness creation.

Odawn said that increased media campaigns against malnutrition would significantly help in improving nutrition indices of the state.

In his response, the KSMC MD, who was represented by the Director Programmes, Mrs Esther Kozah, said the visit is very important because both the committee and her organization are complimenting each other.

“Whatever you are doing, if people don’t know through the media, it will not amount to much because it is like blinking in the dark, but if we share information and we are always available for one another you will see that the work will go well, you will serve the people well, you will achieve your mandate, we will also achieve ours which is that of educating and enlightening the people.

She thanked the committee for coming and assured them of KSMCs support against malnutrition, and also commended them for doing a good job.
