Northern Youths Tackles PANDEF, Ohaneze, ACF Over Attack on Zamfara Governor

Northern Youths Initiative and Political Congress (NOPCO) on Sunday tackled the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), Ohanenze Ndigbo and Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), for attacking Zamfara State Governor Bello Matawalle over his threat of reprisal on Southerners living in the North.
Matawalle had threatened that the North may be forced to retaliate attacks on its people by Southerners, urging Southern leaders to stop the attacks to avoid reprisal.
NOPCO in a statement signed by the Yusuf Abubakar, said Northern youths are fully behind the Governor and support the move to bring a lasting solution and wanton killings of these innocent people in the south.
According to the youths, “his words has justify his action by the process he followed in reaching out to some of his colleagues in the North to unite and confront such ugly trends of attacks against Hausa community in the South.
“Truly, Governor Bello Muhammad made it clear that enough is enough over the continue attacks and butchering of Hausa people leaving in the South due to ethnic and hatred by some suspected hooligans and thugs across the southern region of Nigeria.
“We are aware that just recently some miscreants under the watchful eyes of their leaders attacked and killed many Hausa people at Orlu, Imo state, few months after same attacks of Hausa community in Sasha Market, Ibadan, Oyo state respectively.
“Despite our accommodative posture of giving shelter and protecting their dignity and well being, Igbo people are taking this issue far in open attacks and destruction of properties of our dear people due to a reason best known to them in their areas.”
The youths therefore said “we condemned in totality the meddlesome of Ohaneze and PANDEF on issues that entirely affect the survival of our people, where they questioned the action and reaction of Zamfara governor on the carnage happening under their watch in the south without taking any action to remedy the continue attacks.
“The Ohaneze and PANDEF does not belong to North and cannot threatened northern leaders that have genuine intention of protecting and safe guarding their people like governor Bello Muhammad Mutawalle.
“We also frown at the involvement of Arewa Consultative Forum of becoming so silent after these constant attacks on Northerners, only to voice their opinion against the Zamfara state governor and other eminent Northerners that have expressed their worries and concern on the escalation of such injustice against Hausa community.
“We call on ACF to immediately withdrawal such statement and seek audience with Gov Bello Muhammad and other eminent Northerners in order to bring a lasting solution and unite to save our people in the South.”
They urged Federal Government to urgently pacify the victims by giving them compensation and creating an avenue of bringing unity and cohesion among every ethnic group in the country, so that hooligans can stop hiding under hatred to perpetuate such criminal activities on the innocent Hausa traders and community.
They also called on northern governors Forum to urgently visit Imo and Anambra to get the roots cause of the crisis in order to bring a lasting solution of peace to the people.
