Nigerian Breweries Lauds Military over Boko-Haram War‎

The Manager Nigerian Breweries Plc (NB) Kaduna, ‎Mr. Adebolu Obawole‎  has applauded the Nigerian Military over the recent successes recorded in the displacement of Boko-Haram insurgents in the North-East. 

Addressing pressmen shortly after the end of the Golf tournament hosted by the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) Kaduna, the Breweries manager said the huge effort of the Nigerian military in defending our sovereignty and the protection of lives and properties during this challenging period is highly commendable.
 
While explaining that the Golf tournament provides opportunity to exercise bond and enjoy good time together, he maintained that sports remains a very strong unifying force the world over and this is why Nigerian Breweries will continue to sponsor the NDA Golf event in order to promote the spirit of togetherness associated with it.‎

Mr Adebolu said NB Plc, who sponsored the tournament, had a strong friendship and partnership with the NDA Golf Club and the Armed Forces Command as part of its corporate social responsibility to its neighbouring communities. 
 
He said the company, which produce about 58 products in its 11 brewery locations across the country including two in Kaduna, had in its 51 years of existence gave back to the society in the areas of education, health, water supply, agriculture and sports among others. 
 
“In spite of all the socio-economic challenges we have continued to put in our very best to steer the company to great operational excellence. Through our corporate social responsibility platform, we keep close touch with key stakeholders like you. Our corporate social responsibility agenda is designed to positively impact our society and touch various aspects of our community life giving back to the society.

He however, ‎urged those who participated and won various prizes to remember that the joy is even more in friendship and participation.‎‎

Responding the Deputy Commandant of NDA Air Vice E.C Okoye who stood in for the commandant expressed appreciation to the Nigeria Breweries Plc for sponsoring the tournament while requesting the company to look into supporting the work aimed at improving the facilities at the club.‎

At the end of the 2015 NDA Open Golf Tournament, held at NDA Golf Club Kaduna  Ahmed Abdulahi of Zaria Golf club scored the best gross of 144 to win the 2015 NDA Open Golf Tournament, Yakubu Abdullahi of  IBB Golf Club emerged runner up with 151 gross while Abdullullahi Shehu Zaria Golf Club came second runner up with 152 gross.

‎Amina Wilfred of IBB golf club Abuja hit 171 gross to win the female category beating Racheal Danjuma of the Jaji golf club, who scored 189 gross to place second. Vera David of Zaria golf club won the best nett with 143 net beating club mate Justina Gideon with 151 net to second position. Rachel Danjuma of OSIGC also won the ladies longest drive.
 
Aminu Mohammed of BGC scored 154 to win best gross in category II (handicap 10 – 18) beating RGC’s Matthew Pam with 157gross. Mohammed Imran of BGC won the best nett of the category with 126 beating NDA’s Joel Joseph with 135.      
 
The veterans’ category was won by Adamu Yusuf of Zaria golf club who scored 166 gross to beat KGC’s Frank Onotu who scored 189 gross. Tanimu Garba of Zaria golf club scored 153 to emerge the best nett beating C. Maciano of Kaduna golf club who scored 158 nett.‎
