NASS Members Boycotts APC Zonal Meeting
Senator representing Sokoto South zone Ibrahim Danbaba and all members of House of Representatives from the zone were Sunday conspicuously absent at the All Progressives Congress (APC), Zonal Meeting in Sokoto.
The Reps from the zone include Aminu Shagari,Yabo/Shagari federal constituency, Abdussamad Dasuki Kebbe/Tambuwal constituency and Aliyu Shehu, Bodinga/Tureta/Dange/Shuni constituency.
No explanation was given for their absence at the meeting which was said to have been convened to brainstorm on the state of affairs of the party and its performance in government at all levels.
This comes as the Zonal party chairman, Abubakar Umar Tambuwal had disclosed that the meeting was billed to be attended by all political office holders; all National and State Assembly members; all former NASS and state Assembly members; all commissioners and all party officials at state and local government levels from the zone.
Others, he added, include local government elected officials; women and youths leaders and elders as well as former Commissioners and special advisers.
The meeting however had in attendance Governor Aminu Tambuwal, Minister of state for Trade and Investment, Hajiya A’isha Abubakar, Governor Aminu Tambuwal, APC Sokoto chairman and other party stalwarts from the Zone.
It was held at Bodinga town, headquarters of Bodinga Local Government area of Sokoto.
