After 101 days of his appointment as the General Manager, Kaduna State Community and Social Development Agency, Muhammed Muazu Mukaddas on Monday, assumed duty at the agency.

His resumption according to an insider, has brought an end to the leadership tussle which kept the former GM, Muhammed Abdullahi Shuaibu, in the office beyond his time.

The insider revealed that the former GM, resisted being relieved of his appointment by Governor Uba Sani’s administration as head of the agency.

Governor Uba Sani, had announced the appointment of Mukaddas, as new GM of the agency in August and was asked to resume with immediate effect. His attempt to assume office on 22nd of August 2023, was halted by Shuaibu’s refusal to leave office.

It was gathered that the new Secretary to the Kaduna State Government, Dr. Abdulkadir Mu’azu, had to intervene by serving a letter to quit office by Wednesday 22nd of November to allow Mukaddas to assume duty at the agency.

Addressing management and staff of the agency on Monday on his assumption, the new GM, assured them of a close working relationship in his developmental stride.

According to him, everyone in the agency is important irrespective of what he or she does, therefore he is ready to learn from them the way they should be prepared to learn from him.

He said his goal is to ensure the agency’s goals and objectives are achieved in line with Governor Uba Sani’s promise to the people of Kaduna state, especially the vulnerable and poor.

“I was appointed to drive the objective of this agency, which is to address poverty among the rural poor to improve access to services for Human Capital Development (HCD) through increased and sustained access of the poor to improve social and infrastructure services.” Mukaddas noted.

The new GM, is an astute humanitarian professional with over 22 years work experience, having worked for UNICEF Nigeria and Bangladesh in varied capacities; and, Kaduna State Government as Executive Secretary State Emergency Management Agency (KADSEMA), under Governor Nasir Elrufai’s administration.

He is renowned for leading the search, rescue and evacuation operation post March 28th 2022 Abuja-Kaduna bound AK9 train terrorist attack that claimed 9 lives, severely injured 26 passengers, and had many abducted; Created local structures (Local Emergency Management Committees) in the 23 LGAs of Kaduna State to boost sub- national early warning early action; Expanded the agency’s partnerships with international organizations and the UN; Developed capacities of the state’s workforce, and created new skill sets within his 21 months stewardship.
