Minister warn merchants of violence to desist
The Minister of State Defence, Bello Matawalle, has issued a stern warning against any groups or individuals propagating for violence against the peaceful coexistence and harmony being enjoyed by the law abiding citizens of the nation.
The Minister, who was responding to high rate of fake news, rumour mongers, those propagating hate speeches, and promoters of violence, in an exclusive interview with Standard Voice Newspaper at his residence in Abuja on Friday, directed all security chiefs in the country to be on alert with a view to dealing decisively with anyone found engaging in any act capable of truncating the nation’s democracy.
He said security agencies should ensure total compliance to the provisions of the constitution of the Federal Republic.
The Minister said the present government, under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu, meant well for all Nigerians and is doing every effort to make the county better for all of us and should be supported by all.
Matawalle said the President should be respected by the citizens to give him and his government the courage to do what it takes to make this county great.
He said the ministry for defence would not condone any act capable of disrupting the peace and tranquillity of the country.
