Man, 46, was yesterday apprehended by the Badarwa/ Malali Concerned forum aka Ojimeme for charming and defiling an 11 year old girl in Kaduna.
The suspect Mohammed Baba Mohammed, an Electrical Engineer was caught by the minor’s elder sister having carnal knowledge of the girl in her fathers house at Badarawa festac road.
According to the girl (name withheld) who narrated her ordeal to our correspondent at the Badarawa/Malali concerned forums office where the suspect was being held to be handed over to the police, the suspect had forcefully slept with her over three times now at different places .
The 11years Rape Victim
She said, the suspect had always warned her not to ever reveal what was happening between them to any person, adding that the suspect was always giving her fifty naira after sleeping with her.
The suspect who is a married man with a child confessed to committing the crime, adding that he regrets his actions.
According to Mohammed, his motives was as a result of charm given to him by a herbalist in Maiduguri for wealth purposes upon sleeping with a minor.
“I was given the charm from one man in Maiduguri, Borno state, the man said I should rub it on any girl of between 10 and 11 years of age and then sleep with her after which I will have a lot of wealth thereafter.
The father of the girl, Usman Adamu who reported the case and insisting that justice must be done on the behalf of her daughter also narrated how the suspect was caught in his room defiling his daughter.
His words: “I was in Kawo when the my elder daughter called me to inform me of the happening, upon reaching home she told me what happened, she said she came home and met the door locked from outside, she had to knock severally before the door was opened and only to find the man with her sister.
“Upon interrogation, her younger sister (the victim) confessed that the man forcefully slept with her, it was then I reported to the Badarawa/Malali concerned forum who thereafter went after the suspect and apprehended him.
“The man has defiled my daughter and I won’t want him to go free of his atrocity, he should be punished severely” the victims father stressed.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Badarawa/Malali concerned Forum Mohammed Adamu Lema condemned the act and promised to hand over the suspect to the police and follow the case to its logical conclusion.
