London Trip: Buhari Confirms He is sick
President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday confirmed that he was going to London for 10 days to get his health checked and that the National Assembly had been duly informed.
The presidency, however, insisted that the president was not sick but was going on vacation. Before embarking on the journey, he confirmed that he had duly transmitted a letter to the National Assembly intimating the federal lawmakers of his 10day leave, starting Monday June, 6.
The president disclosed this when he spoke to journalists at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja, shortly before leaving for London. Buhari said, “I have already told Nigerians that I am going for 10 days to get my ears checked. But Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, insists that the president’s plan to have a medical check while in London is not to suggest that he is sick.
