Lawmaker Donates Free Drugs for Cesarean Session in Kebbi State

As part of his effort to contribute to the reduction of maternal mortality in Kebbi State a member House of Representative, representing Yauri, Ngasky and Shanga Federal Constituency, Hon. Tanko Yusuf Sunnunu has donated drugs for free Cesarean Session (CS) operation on pregnant women in the State.
Speaking during the flag- off of presentation of the items to three General Hospitals in his constituency, the Federal Lawmaker who is also the chairman House Committee on Health Services said that the programme is aims to save lives of many pregnant women, especially those who cannot deliver on their own.
Hon. Tanko, who was represented by his Senior legislative aide, Umar Abdullah, said that the target are those pregnant women who may need to undergo surgery before delivery.
He added that over 200 pregnant women would benefit from the gesture while all the necessary arrangements are also being made for a successful operation if the need arises.
“The operation will be done in three General Hospitals under his own constituency, Yauri, Ngasky and Shanaga Local Government areas of the State, the programme will continue until the end of his tenured” he added.
He also disclosed that a free medical outreach on eyes operation was done for thousands of patients, while some with other health challenges also benefited.
“You see the Federal Lawmaker sponsored about 15 students that will study different science courses in the private health institutions” he added.
Speaking at the occasion, the chairman Yauri Local Government Hon. Bala Mohammed Yauri thanked the lawmaker for the gesture and urged the health personnel to use the items accordingly to serve their purpose, and also prayed for their safe operation.
